Only in the Feather household will a 6-year-old girl end up with a rope burn on her neck and, in response to questions about what happened, quote Clint Eastwood in Hang 'Em High and say, "If you're gonna hang a man, you better make sure he's dead."

The story of what really happened is boring. Cara and another child were playing with a jump rope and had it pulled tight. Hannah ran into it. That's it. I guess I could make it more interesting and say that Hannah was clotheslined by her sister and Ellie, but I prefer Hannah's quote, because it seems much more mysterious. My brother Stephen thinks we should make up a good story that can become urban legend.
